About Ischgl

Ischgl-Samnaun (Silvretta Arena) is one of more than 420 ski resorts in Austria and one of more than 350 in Switzerland. It is located between the states of Austrian state of Tyrol and Swiss region of Eastern Switzerland in the Silvretta Alps and the Verwall Alps groups of the larger Western Rhaetian Alps range of the Alps at an altitude between 1,360 and 2,872 m with a difference of 1,512 m. It is the nearest ski resort to the towns of Partenen and Pfunds, so there are no nearby large cities. The main feature of Ischgl-Samnaun (Silvretta Arena) ski resort is that it has guaranteed snow, "thanks to the ski resort's high elevation”. It is also in the top 5 ski resorts in Austria by size with more than 240 km of slopes and more than 40 ski lifts in total. The resort is best suitable for intermediate skiers — most of its slopes are red. However, for easy and advanced skiing as well, the resort has more than 50 km of blue and black slopes each. The most common types of ski lifts are a chairlift. The Ischgl-Samnaun (Silvretta Arena) season is from late November to early May in general.
