About Breuil-Cervinia

Breuil-Cervinia (Matterhorn Ski Paradise) is one of more than 180 ski resorts in Italy. It is located in the region of Aosta Valley on the border with Switzerland, where it is transitioned into the Zermatt Ski Resort. Together with the Italian Valtournenche to the south, they form the one of the largest and highest ski areas in this part of the world, Matterhorn Ski Paradise, located at an altitude between 1,562 and 3,899 m with a difference of 2,337 m. Geographically, this is the Pennine Alps range of the Western Alps. It is the nearest large ski resort to the town of Aosta of the same name. The main feature of Breuil-Cervinia ski resort is Matterhorn (4,478 m / 14,691 ft), in Italian: Monte Cervino, at the very bottom of which it is located. The mere sight of this majestic mountain, also depicted on the PeakVisor logo, is enough to draw thousands of skiers from around the world. The resort is the second-biggest ski area in northwestern Italy after Sestriere (Via Lattea) with more than 320 km of slopes and more than 50 ski lifts in total and the third-biggest in Italy as a whole after Dolomiti Superski (500 km). The resort is best suitable for intermediate skiers — most of its slopes are red. However, for easy and advanced skiing, it has more that 70 km of blue slopes and almost 30 km of black slopes. The most common type of ski lift is a chairlift. The Breuil-Cervinia season is year-round, which means you can ski here even in the middle of summer on its glaciers. And that's another of its unique features.
