Charlotte Pass

Charlotte Pass is one of 8 ski resorts in Australia. It is located in the state of New South Wales in the southeast of the country in the Main Range of the larger Snowy Mountains of the even larger Australian Alps, which is in turn is the highest part of the Great Dividing Range at an altitude between 1,765 and 1,954 m with a difference of 189 m. It is one of the most popular ski resorts near Sydney. The main feature of Charlotte Pass ski resort is that it is the closest of three resorts to Mount Kosciuszko (2,228 m / 7,310 ft), the highest peak of the range and all of Australia, at which it is located (two others are country’s top two resorts by size: Perisher and Thredbo). The resort has more than 10 km of slopes and more than 3 ski lifts in total. It is best suitable for intermediate skiing — most of its slopes are red. The most common type of ski lift is a T-bar. The Charlotte Pass season is from mid June to late September in general.
