At an elevation of 1,516 m (4,974 ft.), and with a prominence of 345 m (1,132 ft.), Monte Boglia, or Colmafregia, has a summit that forms the divide between Lombardy in Italy and Ticino in Switzerland.
Taking on the family-friendly two-hour hike, the top of Monte Boglia can be reached starting from the Village of Brè. Along the way, benches have been provided to give hikers a chance to absorb the beauty of the landscape. Once the top is reached, visitors can look over to the southern side to view Lake Lugano, as well as snow-covered Monte Rosa.
There's a hiking trail (T2) leading to the summit. Monte Boglia is one of the 18 peaks along the multi-day Sentiero Lago di Lugano.
