At an elevation of 2,990 m (9,810 ft.), and with a prominence of 317 m (1,040 ft.), Cima Falkner forms part of the Southern Rhaetian Alps. It is situated in the province of Trento, Italy.
One can drive from Madonna di Campiglio down to Campo Carlo Magno, where the hike begins. The trail leads up to the Grostè cableway at 2,450 m. From there, a 15-minute walk leads to the Grostè pass and on to the Benini path.
After a further 45 minutes, the hiker reaches Via Ferrata. At this point, mountaineering equipment is required to climb a steep rock face to reach the summit. The summit is marked by a mound of rocks stacked one upon another.
This is not a difficult mountain to climb, but due to the final approach being so steep, a bit of prior experience is desirable. Those who have little or no mountaineering experience should not attempt reaching the summit without an experienced mountaineer with them.
There's an alpine trail (T4) leading to the summit.
