At an elevation of 3,472 m (11,391 ft.), and with a prominence of 1,439 m (4,721 ft.), Mount Baldy is the tallest peak in the White Mountains and Apache Country, Arizona, United States. Mount Baldy is considered sacred to the Apache tribe. The summit is part of the Fort Apache Indian Reservation and hikers must obtain a permit to visit it. However, a smaller sub-peak at 3,319 m (10,890 ft), about half a mile north of the summit, is outside the reservation and publicly accessible by a maintained trail.
