At an elevation of 2,719 m (8,921 ft.), and with a prominence of 166 m (545 ft.), Seefeldspitz forms part of the Western Tauern Alps. It is situated in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, in the province of South Tyrol, Italy.
The route up this mountain starts at the Gitschberg mountain station, which is a ski resort, and ends at the Gitschberg valley station. The trail to the summit is particularly popular due to the pastures and lakes in the region. Climbers can also enjoy a backdrop of other great mountains of the Valsertal (Plattspitze, Wilde Kreuzspitze, and Wurmaulspitze).
The approach is fairly easy, and no specialized mountain equipment is required. However, one needs to watch one’s step when passing the middle lake, and a bit of surefootedness wouldn’t go amiss during the ridge descent.
There's a hiking trail (T2) leading to the summit. Seefeldspitz - Cima di Campolago is one of the 3 peaks along the 6 - Meransen => Pfunders.
The nearest mountain hut is Tschiffernaunalm located 1 175m/3 853ft WSW of the summit.
