Piz Rasaß is a mountain in the Sesvenna Range of the Alps, located in the Italian region of South Tyrol. It has an elevation of 3,152 metres and is close to the Swiss border. The area is rich in natural beauty and biodiversity, with alpine meadows, forests, and wildlife.
There are many hiking trails near Piz Rasaß that offer different levels of difficulty and scenery. One of them is the hiking trail between Lake Grünsee and Lake Rasaß in the Zerzer Valley trail, which starts from the village of Schlinig and leads to the two lakes through a forested valley. The trail is about 10 km long and takes about 3 hours to complete. Another option is the Alpe di Siusi | Seiser Alm trail, which is a large alpine plateau with panoramic views of the Dolomites. The trail has various routes that range from easy to moderate and can be accessed by cable car or bus from nearby towns. The trail is suitable for families and offers opportunities for birdwatching and backpacking.
Piz Rasaß is also a great place for winter sports enthusiasts. The Schoeneben ski resort has 65 km of slopes, ranging from easy to difficult, and 11 cableway facilities.
