At an elevation of 7,181 m (23,560 ft.), and with a prominence of 1,570 m (5,089 ft.), Melungtse is the highest mountain of the Rolwaling Himal Range in the Himalayas, situated in Tibet, China. It is regarded as an Ultra Mountain, due to its prominence of more than 1,500 m, which is relatively rare.
The first successful ascent of Mount Melungtse was not made until 1992, by Marko Prezelj and Andrej Stremfelj. They did it in an astonishing two and a half days!
