At an elevation of 6,962 m (22,841 ft.), and with a prominence of 6,962 m (22,841 ft.), find Ultra peak, Aconcagua, the tallest peak outside of Asia, and located in the Andes, Mendoza province, Argentina. (Although this peak is entirely situated within Argentina, it is 15 km from the border with Chili and can be seen from Chili due to its elevation.
Aconcagua is considered the tallest peak in both the southern and western hemispheres.
The mountain has several glaciers, the biggest of which is the Ventisquero Horcones Inferior, which slopes for more or less 3,600 meters in height.
There's a demanding alpine trail (T5) called Filo del Guanaco leading to the summit.
