La roccia non è sempre ottima e su alcuni itinerari è necessario fare attenzione a ciò che si tira. I tiri con chiodatura meno recente richiedono un po' di decisione (spesso anche per raggiungere il primo chiodo), altri invece sono richiodati in modo molto più umano. I tiri più belli, e ripetuti, sono anche "untarelli"; alcuni infatti sono stati modificati nella gradazione... (sul posto i gradi scritti alla base a volte sono più alti di quelli riportati sulla guida).
Approach
Scendendo da Briancon oltrepassare L'Argentiere e svoltare quindi a destra in direzione Freissinieres, seguire le indicazioni per Champcella e di qui seguire la strada che taglia a mezzacosta, ingnorando le indicazioni per Le ponteil. La falesia è proprio sulla strada, molto evidente (il primo settore è a 20 secondi dal parchggio).
