At an elevation of 2,945 m (9,662 ft.), with a prominence of 123 m (404 ft.), Munt Baselgia is situated in the Western Rhaetian Alps in Switzerland, close to sister mountain, Piz Macun. The village of Zernes nestles at the foot of the mountain, and is located in the Engiadina Bassa (Val Müstair Region) in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland.
From the summit of Munt Baselgia, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the town of Zernes down below. The hike over Macun lakes passes the only site where the pigmy buttercup grows in Switzerland.
There's a demading hiking trail (T3) leading to the summit. Spi da Baselgia is one of the 2 peaks along the Zernez-Macun.
