At an elevation of 2,784 m (9,134 ft.), and with a prominence of 1,580 m (5,184 ft.), ultra mountain Mount Polinik forms part of the Western Tauern Alps. It is situated in the Möll Valley near the villages of Obervellach and Flattach, in the state of Carinthia, Austria.
To enjoy the beauty of Mount Polinik, it is advisable to summit the mountain from the Flattach side. On this route, a climber will pass through a protected natural monument, the Ragga Ravine. Here, a lovely boardwalk crosses some beautiful waterfalls and leads up to the Raggaalm Pasture, where farmers graze their cattle and sheep during the summer.
