At an elevation of 1,041 m (3,415 ft.), and with a prominence of 210 m (689 ft.), Pinnacle Mountain is the highest mountain in the state of South Carolina, situated in the Table Rock State Park, United States.
In the 1990s, more than 600 prehistoric petroglyphs were found at Pinnacle Mountain: these petroglyphs are thought to be 1,500-3,000 years old, created by the Hopewell culture, pre-dating the Cherokees.
