At an elevation of 2,866 m (9,403 ft.), and with a prominence of 377 m (1,237 ft.), Nufenenstock is a popular trekking and skiing destination that is situated on the border of two Swiss cantons, Ticino and Valais, in Switzerland. The mountain forms part of the Lepontine Alps.
Nufenenstock lies between Passo del Corno and Nufenen Pass and has a unique and interesting shape. Even trekkers can identify the mountain by looking at its peak which has a unique inverse V-shape. The geological structure and the climate has contributed to the formation of V-shape over the course of thousands of years.
