Mount Foraker is a 17,400-foot (5,304 m) peak located in the central Alaska Range. It is the third-highest peak in the Alaska Range. Mount Foraker is a popular destination for mountaineers, offering stunning views and challenging climbs.
The first ascent of Mount Foraker was made in 1934 by Charles Houston, T. Graham Brown, and Chychele Waterston. They climbed the peak via the West Ridge, a route that is still popular today. Since then, Mount Foraker has seen numerous ascents, including the first solo ascent in 2016 by Colin Haley.
Mount Foraker is considered to be one of the most difficult peaks in the Alaska Range. It is composed of two summits, the South Summit (5,121 m) and the Southwest Summit (5,154 m). The peak is surrounded by glaciers, making it a difficult and dangerous climb.
