At an elevation of 1,736 m (5,696 ft.), and with a prominence of 144 m (472 ft.), Monte Grona is a peak located in the Lugano Prealps, situated in the Como province, Italy.
On the eastern side of Monte Grona is situated the Menaggio refuge, serving as a support point for hikers. Monte Grona is also part of the ‘Grona Line,’ which is a geological fault allowing one to see rapid changes in the rocks.
There's a demading hiking trail (T3) called Sentiero Direttissima leading to the summit.
The nearest mountain hut is Rifugio Menaggio located 605m/1 984ft ESE of the summit.
