Tänndalen is one of more than 250 ski resorts in Sweden. It is located in the Jämtland County in the very west of the central part of the country on the border with Norway in the Scandinavian Mountains at an altitude between 743 and 1,038 m with a difference of 295 m. It is the nearest ski resort to the town of Hamra. The main feature of Tänndalen ski resort (don't confuse it with Tandådalen, a part of much larger Sälen ski areas in Dalecarlia region) is that it is still in the top five of the biggest in Sweden with more than 40 km of slopes and more than 10 ski lifts in total. The resort is best suitable for easy and intermediate skiing — most of its slopes are blue and red. For advanced skiers, there are just a few km of black slopes. The most common type of ski lift is a chairlift. The Tänndalen season is from late November to mid-April in general.
