As the 2025 hiking season kicks off across the Northern Hemisphere, we want to thank you for being part of the growing PeakVisor community and to share some important news.

Since day one, our mission has been to help you explore the mountains more confidently, efficiently, and, as a result, safely. Whether you're tackling your first summit or planning a multi-day traverse, our goal is to offer you a tool that makes your outdoor adventures that much more memorable.

And here’s something we’re proud of: for the past six years, we’ve kept PeakVisor’s pricing unchanged, even as the app has grown far beyond its original scope.

Why We’re Updating Our Pricing

PeakVisor started as a peak identification tool. However, over the past several years, the app has evolved into a comprehensive accessory for mountain exploration. Today, not only do you enjoy real-time peak identification, you also have access to offline 3D maps, intelligent route planning and trail suggestions, Garmin Connect integration, thousands of skiing and hiking routes, location check-ins, cinematic flyover videos that let you preview and relive your adventures, and even a Karma score measuring your outdoor achievements.

We’ve built all this as an independent, self-financed team — without investors or advertising. Every new feature, every improvement, and every bug fix is powered directly by your support and feedback. Let’s be clear: we’re proud of our progress and honored to have you along for the ride.

To keep the quality high and continue innovating sustainably, we’ll be updating our subscription prices for the first time ever, starting June 1, 2025:

• Monthly subscription → $9.99 (currently $5.99)
• Yearly subscription → $39.99 (currently $29.99)

This update reflects the value PeakVisor Pro now delivers — and ensures we can keep building, refining, and supporting the features that matter most to you. Of course, inflation over the past several years has also raised our operating costs significantly.

A New Long-Term Option, and a Way to Give PeakVisor as a Gift

With this update, we’re also introducing a new 3-year subscription — a convenient, cost-effective choice for those who want full access over multiple seasons. It will be available directly in the app for $100.*

For those who wish to share PeakVisor with others, we now offer the ability to purchase PeakVisor Pro as a gift — exclusively on our website. The gift version includes unlimited access to all features and will be available for $150.*

What You Can Do Now

If you’re already a PeakVisor Pro subscriber, your current plan and pricing stay the same until your next renewal.

And, if you’ve been considering an upgrade, now is the best time: until May 31, you can still subscribe at the current lower price, and enjoy the full, untethered experience of the app for the season ahead — and beyond.
