At an elevation of 2,267 m (7,438 ft.), and with a prominence of 1,715 m (5,627 ft.), Serra Dolcedorme is an Ultra mountain forming part of the Apennines. It is situated in the province of Cosenza, in Calabria, Italy.
The Serra Dolcedorme is the highest peak in the Pollino massif after the volcano, Mount Etna, in Sicily. The Pollino massif is an extension of the Apennines. This mountain is classified as a non-technical mountain, which means that it can be climbed by a person who is in good physical condition without the need of specialized mountaineering equipment. There is not much signposting, but the trails are easy to make out, and the peak is visible from all approaches.
There's a demanding alpine trail (T5) called cai 921A leading to the summit.
