At an elevation of 1,342 m (4,403 ft.), and with a prominence of 993 m (3,258 ft.), Parasnath is the highest peak in the Indian state of Jharkhand. Forming part of the Parasnath Range, Parasnath is situated in the Chota Nagpur Plateau in the Giridih district, in Jharkhand, India.
The most important Jain Tirtha to the Jains is located on top of Parasnath and is known as the Shikharji Jain Temple. It is believed that twenty Tirthankaras (spiritual teachers) attained moksha (liberation) here.
