Mount Daisen is regarded as an Ultra mountain, specifically due to its prominence of 1,634 m (5,361 ft.). At an elevation of 1,729 m (5,672 ft.), this mountain is regarded as the tallest mountain in the Chũgo Region, near to the city of Daisen, Tottori, situated in the Tottori Prefecture, Japan.
The Buddhist Temple of Daisen-ji is situated halfway up the mountain. It has been on the mountain since its establishment there in 718. Accessing the temple and climbing this mountain used to be a bit difficult and not allowed for all people. If you were allowed, you had to be accompanied by a monk from the Daisen-ji Temple.
