At an elevation of 7,031 m (23,068 ft.), and with a prominence of 1,824 m (5,984 ft.), Mount Saipal is an Ultra mountain in the Himalayas in north-west Nepal. close to the town, Chainpur, in the Bajhang district.
Mount Saipal is the 2nd highest peak in the western Himalayas. With sister mountains, Nampa and Api, it forms three icy peaks that can be seen with the naked eye, even from a distance.
Visitors often climb Mount Saipal first before taking on either Mount Nampa or Api. Mount Saipal is known to be easier to trek, especially for hikers and climbers with less experience. The trail starts in the town of Chainpur, which is close to Maila. The Surmasarowear Lake (at 4,300 m) is also a popular tourist attraction, and located southwest of Mount Saipal.
