At an elevation of 2,092 m (6,864 ft.), and with a prominence of 772 m (2,533 ft.), Hengst forms part of the Swiss Prealps. It is situated near the city of Luzern (more commonly known as Lucerne). The mountain is the high point of the canton of Lucerne, Switzerland.
The Hengst is not a mountain to be taken lightly. It has some tough sections, and only seasoned mountaineers should attempt to scale it. Over the years, several attempts have been unsuccessful, even by experts, who had to turn back after reaching a particular altitude.
Suitable mountain-climbing gear like skis, ski poles, ropes, ice picks, and other related equipment should be used. Weather reports should be carefully monitored, as the weather is volatile and can change drastically within a few hours.
There's a trail leading to the summit.
