Le Grand Massif is one of more than 250 ski resorts in France. It is located in the Savoy department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in the Vanoise Massif in the larger Graian Alps range of the Western Alps at an altitude between 697 and 2,480 m with a difference of 1,783 m. It is one of the nearest ski resorts to the French city of Annecy and the Swiss city of Geneva. The main feature of Le Grand Massif ski resort is that it is the firth-biggest in France with more than 265 km of slopes and more than 60 ski lifts in total. It is best suitable for easy and intermediate skiing — most of its slopes are blue and red. However, for advanced skiing as well, it has more than 35 km of black slopes. The most common type of ski lift is a chairlift. The Le Grand Massif season is from mid-December to early April in general.
