Voss is one of more than 170 ski resorts in Norway. It is located in the Innlandet region in the southeast of the country on the border with Sweden in the Scandinavian Mountains at an altitude between 284 and 964 m with a difference of 680 m. It is the nearest large ski resort to the country's second largest city, Bergen. The main feature of Voss ski resort is that it is the third-biggest ski area in Norway after Trysil and Oppdal, and together with Hemsedal, Hafjell, Hovden, and Kvitfjell, all of which has more than 40 km of slopes and more than 10 ski lifts in total. The resort is best suitable for intermediate skiers — most of its slopes are red. However, for easy and advanced skiing, it has more than 20 and 10 km of blue and black slopes, respectively. The most common type of ski lift is a chairlift. The Voss season is from early December to late April in general.
