Nevis Range is one of 5 real ski resorts in the UK, all of which are located in Scotland in the Grampian Mountains, the main central range of the region. The resorts' altitude is between 655 and 1,221 m with a difference of 566 m. It is one the most popular areas for skiing near Edinburgh and Glasgow. The main feature of Nevis Range ski resort is Britain's highest peak, Ben Nevis (1,345 m / 4,412 ft). There are no lifts to it, but you can see it while skiing on the neighboring Aonach Mor (1,221 m / 4,005 ft). Therefore, it attracts many skiers, despite being only the fourth largest. The resort has more than 20 km of slopes and more than 10 ski lifts in total. It is best suitable for intermediate skiers — half of its slopes are red. However, for easy and advanced skiing, it has the same number of slopes, combined. The most common type of ski lift is a chairlift. The Nevis Range season is from mid-December to mid-April in general.
