Laax/Flims/Falera is one of more than 350 ski resorts in Switzerland. It is located in the canton of Grisons in the Eastern Switzerland region in the Bernina Range of the larger Western Rhaetian Alps of the Eastern Alps at an altitude between 1,100 and 3,018 m with a difference of 1,918 m. It is the nearest ski resort to the three villages, which are put in its name — the slopes start directly from them and crawl to the neighboring mountains — or rather, vice versa. The main feature of Arosa Lenzerheide ski resort is that it is the third-biggest ski area in Switzerland after 4 Vallées (Verbier, La Tzoumaz, Nendaz, Veysonnaz, and Thyon), and Arosa Lenzerheide, not counting also the Les Portes du Soleil, Matterhorn Ski Paradise (Zermatt, Breuil-Cervinia, and Valtournenche), and Silvretta Arena, which are partly located in other countries. The resort has almost 200 km of slopes and more than 25 ski lifts in total. It is best suitable for easy and intermediate skiing — most of its slopes are blue and red. However, for advanced skiers, it also has more than 20 km of black slopes. The most common types of ski lifts are a chairlift and a T-bar. The Arosa Lenzerheide season is from early December to mid-April in general.
