Arabba-Marmolada is one of more than 180 ski resorts in Italy. It is located between Trentino-Alto Adige and Veneto regions in the Dolomites range of the Eastern Alps at an altitude between 1,446 and 3,269 m with a difference of more than 1,823 m. It is the nearest ski resort to Arabba village in the Livinallongo / Fodom valley. The main feature of Arabba-Marmolada ski resort is that it is a 1/12 part of the Dolomiti Superski, the biggest ski area in Italy and the second in the world with more than 500 km of connected slopes after Les 3 Vallées in France (600 km. The particular resort has more than 60 km of slopes and more than 25 ski lifts in total. It is also incredibly famous for the Sellaronda ski route around the namesake Sella Group, which is 40 km or 6 hours long, of which about 1/3 is actually skiing. The resort's second most famous ski route is from Marmolada (3,343 m / 11,266 ft), the highest mountain in the Dolomites. However, it is no longer recommended, due to the collapse of a big part of the glacier in the summer of 2022. The resort is best suitable for intermediate and easy skiing — most of its slopes are red and blue. For advanced skiers, the resort has just about 10 km of black slopes. The most common type of ski lift is a chairlift. The Arabba-Marmolada season is from early December to mid-April in general.
