Mt Hutt

Mt. Hutt is one of more than 30 ski resorts in New Zealand. It is located in the Canterbury region on the South Island in the Southern Alps range, covering it almost entirely, at an altitude between 1,438 and 2,086 m with a difference of 648 m. It is the most popular area for skiing near Christchurch. The main feature of Mt. Hutt ski resort is its main peak, Mt. Hutt (2,185 m / 7,168 ft), from which it got its name, with its famous "The Towers" rock formations you need to pass while skiing on the advanced slopes. It is also the third-biggest ski resort in New Zealand with more than 40 km of slopes and more than 5 ski lifts in total. The resort is best suitable for intermediate skiing — most of its slopes are red. However, for advanced skiers, there are also more than 10 km of black runs. The most common type of ski lift is a chairlift. The Mt. Hutt season is from mid-June to mid-October in general.
