Mt. Buller is one of 8 ski resorts in Australia. It is located in the state of Victoria in the southeast of the country in the Victorian Alps of the larger Australian Alps, the highest part of the Great Dividing Range at an altitude between 1,380 and 1,780 m with a difference of 400 m. It is one of the most popular ski resorts near Melbourne. The main feature of Mt. Buller ski resort is its two main mountains: Mt. Buller (1,811 m / 5,941 ft), from which it got its name, and Mount Stirling (1,752 m / 5,748 ft). The resort has more than 45 km of slopes and more than 20 ski lifts in total. The resort is best suitable for intermediate and advanced skiing — most of its slopes are red and black. For easy skiers, there are just 10 km of slopes. The most common type of ski lift is a chairlift. The Mt. Buller season is from late May to early October in general.
