Falls Creek is one of 8 ski resorts in Australia. It is located in the state of Victoria in the southeast of the country in the Victorian Alps of the larger Australian Alps, the highest part of the Great Dividing Range at an altitude between 1,500 and 1,780 m with a difference of 280 m. It is one of the most popular ski resorts near Melbourne. The main feature of Falls Creek ski resort is its main mountain, Mount McKay (1,842 m / 6,043 ft). It is also the third-biggest ski resort in Australia with more than 50 km of slopes and more than 15 ski lifts in total. The resort is best suitable for intermediate skiing — most of its slopes are red. For easy and advanced skiing, there are just a bit more than 10 km of blue and black slope combined. The most common type of ski lift is a T-bar. The Falls Creek season is from early June to late September in general.
