The Lecht

The Lecht is one of 5 real ski resorts in the UK, all of which are located in Scotland in the Grampian Mountains, the main central range of the region. The resorts' altitude is between 637 and 775 m with a difference of 138 m. It is one of the most popular areas for skiing near Edinburgh and Glasgow. The main feature of Lecht ski resort is its two main mountains: Beinn a' Chruinnich (776 m / 2,545 ft) and Meikle Corr Riabhach (786 m / 2,578 ft). The resort has almost 20 km of slopes and more than 10 ski lifts in total. It is best suitable for intermediate skiers — most of its slopes are red with just a few km of blue and black slopes. The most common type of ski lift is a chairlift. The Lecht season is from mid-December to mid-April in general.
