Coronet Peak

Coronet Peak is one of more than 30 ski resorts in New Zealand. It is located in the Otago region on the South Island in the Southern Alps range, covering it almost entirely, at an altitude between 1,187 and 1,649 m with a difference of 462 m. It is one the most popular areas for skiing near Queenstown. The main feature of Coronet Peak ski resort is its main mountain, Coronet Peak (1,651 m / 5,416 ft), from which it got its name, with rugged terrain. It is also in the top 5 of the biggest ski resorts in New Zealand with more than 40 km of slopes and more than 5 ski lifts in total. The resort is best suitable for intermediate and advanced skiing — most of its slopes are red and black. For easy skiers, there are less than 10 km of blue runs. The most common type of ski lift is a chairlift. The Coronet Peak season is from mid-June to late September in general.
