At an elevation of 771 m (2,530 ft.), and with a prominence of 47 m (154 ft.), Monte Lapa is a mountain that is part of the Apennines and is situated in Messina, Sicily, Italy.
Monte Lapa is the highest hill in the Briatico territory and is of volcanic origin. This is most probably how the mountain got its name as well, as can be understood from the word, ‘Lapa,’ meaning, ‘bee buzzing.' The bee buzzing sound is similar to the sound made when there is a volcanic eruption.
There's a trail leading to the summit.
