Levi is one of more than 75 ski resorts in Finland. It is located in the Fell Lapland region (Fjäll-Lapland) in the Scandinavian Mountains at an altitude between 196 and 531 m with a difference of 335 m. It is the nearest ski resort to the town of Sirkka, north of Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland. The main feature of Levi ski resort is that it is the second-biggest ski area in Finland after Ylläs, also in Lapland, with more than 40 km of slopes and more than 25 ski lifts in total. Another feature is that it is one of the permanent places of the World Cup skiing series. The resort is best suitable for east and intermediate skiing — most of its slopes are blue and red. For advanced skiers, there are just a few km of black slopes. The most common type of ski lift is a chairlift. The Levi season is from early October to early May in general. That is, you can start skiing in the middle of fall and finish in late spring, when the snow in the Alps have not yet fallen / already melted, which makes it one of the most "long working" resorts in Europe.
